McDonalds McSchemes Customers?30 Nov Posted by Tom Andries as Finance & Stocks, News |

Did you know McDonalds will launch the new McDouble in the US during December?
Well now you do… But it’s actually not a new burger at all! It just replaces the wellknown 1 dollar double cheeseburger.
Okay, no problem… or is there?
The launch of the McDouble actually is a great trick. McDonalds will hike the price to $1.19 pretending it’s a new product while at the same time cut the amount of cheese to one slice. McDouble? Yeah… right!
Not that we’ll loose much sleep over $19 cents, but can you imagine what this could do to McDonalds bottom line selling millionsof McDoubles a week at $19 cents extra? They’ve got a great scheme going there!
Popular formula
Off course it’s a formula many brands have excercised recently… you might have noticed those biscuit packages a bit smaller lately or your favorite shampoo running out just a little bit faster?
Loads of products have kept their regular price but have silently been downscaled by a tiny amount in these daunting times. Shareholders will cheer but customers might not like it…
> What’s your opinion? What do you think of product moves like this smart thinking or plain theft?

I can see your point, but companies do this all the time. Honestly, anyone who feels somehow screwed by this probably deserves it for eating too much of this shit anyway.

It’s a shame companies trick their customers, you gotta be smart to notice…
Even worse is politicians tricking their voters & citizens on purpose with empty promises… The should set a good example… hopefully Obama can!

I’m a McDonald’s employee and saw this post about McDonald’s recent Dollar Menu change and thought I would let people know the Double Cheeseburger is not going away. It is true that the Double Cheeseburger will no longer be on the Dollar Menu. Due to rising food costs, it will now be offered on our regular menu for a slightly increased cost (recommended price of $1.19).
However, since we know many of our customers come specifically to McDonald’s for the Dollar Menu, we’re offering an additional double burger that will be on the Dollar Menu called the McDouble. The McDouble is pretty much the same as the Double Cheeseburger, but with one slice of cheese, versus two.
Hope this clarifies that there are actually two products available — the Double Cheeseburger at a recommended price of $1.19 and the new McDouble on the Dollar Menu for $1.
